“My time here is done. I’ve enjoyed it, but I think it’s time for me to start the next phase in my life. It was a hard decision, but I think it was the right decision for me.”

That was what AJ Ogilvy had to say about his career at VU, as he has decided to forgo his senior year and enter the NBA Draft.

Most draft sites have Big Aussie going in the second round, but AJ’s agent says he should go late 1st round – and that is what sealed the deal on his decision. Me personally, I don’t think he’s going to get that kind of attention but then again, I’m not the expert.

If your upset by this, don’t be. Everybody just needs to get over it. I know he was a good player and all, but it’s time to move on. Let’s hope Festus can step up, which I think he can, and he’ll have freshman big-man John Henderson behind him.

Nothing like a little post-season awards and honors, huh? We’ll run through this quickly, I just want you to get the info.

• Kevin Stallings wins SEC Coach of the Year
• Beal on First Team All-SEC
• Jenkins is Fresh. All-SEC, as well as Sixth Man of the Year
• Ogilvy, Taylor on Second Team All-SEC

At first there was a little doubt, but they Commodores come away with a win tonight. Thanks to great nights by AJ and Jeff, and a nice closing by Jermaine Beal. ALthough, that Ole Miss 3-ball was keeping the Rebels in the game…

Before we get into the great news and stats, I want to bring about something else. And that’s the poor night Andre Walker. This is a guy who’s became a huge part of this team, as well as one of my favorite players – but he didn’t fair so well tonight. Only 2 points with limited minutes due to QUICK (and I mean quick) foul trouble. Maybe Kevin Stallings should’ve thought more about putting Andre in after that injury, we WILL need him for Kentucky.

Alright, onto the good stuff. First let’s go to AJ Ogilvy, a man commonly critized for dissapearing in games did no such thing tonight. AJ picked up a game-high 27 points, and then added 8 rebounds just for some extra suger-couting.

Jeff Taylor was fantastic, again. 17 points, 4 assist. If he keeps this string of great games going, he’ll be a key man in our game aginst Kentucky.

Last is my man, Jermaine Beal. Who had no points in the first half, but a crucial 14 points in the second half (by the way, I made a prediction at halftime on VSL that he would get over 10 points).

So, let’s get the boy’s rested up (and Andre fully-healed) for the season-deciding Kentucky game (only two more days)!

I tell ya, it’s hard to write post game after such an exciting win. I sit down, and just don’t know what to say. To be honest, I find it easier to write post game after a loss because there’s not a lot to say after you lose. After a win, there’s everything to say, so I don’t know where to start. Commodores get a win in their first SEC game of the season. AJ Ogilvy is the high-point man, with 24 points. He’s closely followed by Jermiane Beal, who had 22 of his own. Although, non of those Commodores win me player of the game award. That actually goes to Andre Walker with his great all-around effort of 8 points, 10 rebounds, (carrer-high) 7 assist, and 3 steals.

It was one of the best game atmospheres I’ve ever experianced, without question. It was (simply put) amazing. Vanderbilt reached it’s second-best scoring output of the season with 95 points, also the highest margin put on the Gators since the 79-80 season.
