Chris Marve. We’ve heard that name all through this offseason, and for good reasons too. Marve’s latest recognition is coming from the Gainesville Sun…
They’ve made a list of the Top 25 players in the SEC, and placed Marve at No. 23. Here’s what they had to say about out top-notch linebacker:
Why he’s No. 23: Marve has been a stud for two seasons at Vandy after redshirting his first year. Some guys just have a nose for the ball and Marve has shown a knack for not only getting to running backs but getting there with an attitude.
Key numbers: Last season, Marve was second in the SEC with 121 tackles. He also had three forced fumbles and had double-digit tackles in seven games. He is one of only a handful of players in SEC history with more than 100 tackles in his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Fun fact: You never know with high school statistic keepers, but in his senior season at Memphis White Station, Marve had 133 solo tackles. That’s a lot.
