Beal Invited to Tryouts

The Mavs were one of the few teams that invited Jermaine Beal to pre-draft workouts, and it seems that Dallas saw something in our former PG…

Jermaine is one of the 15 players invited to the Mavericks’ Summer League Try-Outs. If he impresses coaches here, he’ll be playing in the summer games and may even make the D-League. This is the first step of him having any hopes of ever being the NBA.

I really dont understad some of these teams reasoning when drafting players. They draft the well known players some with poor characters which often times is detrimental to others as well as himself who only went to college to be seen on tv they dont even get an education. A kid like Jermaine Beal whose heart is basketball gets his education and could be an asset to any team gets looked over.He possesses good character and respects others as well as himself. LeBron James is searching for a ring cause it was all about him in cleveland. he will never get a ring with teams allowing it to be about 1 man

Thanks for commenting Wanda, I’m happy to hear your opinion.

I agree with you somewhat. There are a few players like the ones you described above, but not all one-and-done players are bad students/people. And on a drafting standpoint, you got to think about from a teams point of few; NBA teams got to go after the best talent there, and they must not have thought Jermaine Beal had the talent/wasn’t the player they needed.

Let’s be happy for Jermaine. He is a good guy, much like you said, and we should be excited that he’s getting NBA opportunities.

As for LeBron James, your right about the One-Man Team thing. He will need to share the light with some other players before he will ever win a title.

    Thanks again for commenting.
